COVID-19: UPDATED SAFTEY POLICY
Dear Valued Customer:
The current concerns surrounding Coronavirus are leaving many of customers with lots of very valid questions and has led to some changes in our policies. First of all we want to assure you that Moving and Transportation has been deemed an “Essential Service” and we are still running strong. For the safety of our customers and staff we have added the following policies.
- Crews of movers have been assigned to each other along with their equipment, as much as possible, to minimize contact with other movers working at Cross Town Movers.
- We have eliminated our contact between office staff and workers on the truck to limit the risk of cross contamination. Paperwork is left in a designated area specific to each crew that can be securely locked, cleaned and only accessed by the crew members and our dispatch.
- We have taken additional steps to clean and disinfect our equipment at the end of each day by spraying the front cab of each truck and all of our moving equipment with Lysol.
- Each of our movers are required to verify via text each morning that they are free of any symptoms and have not come into contact with anyone thought to be infected.
- Each of our movers are required to wash their hands regularly and wear protective gear like masks and gloves when it does not impede their safety when working.
- We are also checking in with our customers with a day prior confirmation call to check on the health status of everyone in the home we are set to relocate.
- We ask our customers to minimize traffic in their house on the day of the move. Meaning no friends or visitors, only the family being relocated.
- At our physical storage locations in Eugene and Medford: Our doors our currently locked to minimize foot traffic. We ask that you contact the office via phone call (MEDFORD 541-779-1036) (EUGENE 541-683-5211) to inform us of your needs so that we can serve you while minimizing our contact.
- Storage hours have been updated to coincide directly with our hours of operation:
8 am – 5 pm Monday – Friday / 8am – 1pm Saturdays / Closed Sundays – Doors will remain locked, please call us to gain access and please minimize your visits to picking up and dropping off items for storage. Loitering will not be allowed.
- Penske customers at our Eugene location have been asked to stay in their vehicle and call 541-683-5211 to have a representative come out and serve them.
Your understanding and cooperation is greatly appreciated during this current scare. We are hopeful that these changes to our policy will keep you our valued customer and our hard working staff safe and allow us to serve our community during the difficult times.
Sincerely,
The Representatives of Cross Town Movers / Bekins Van Lines with 9 locations in Oregon.
