CROSS TOWN MOVERS: IDAHO MOVING INDUSTRY RULES & REGULATIONS
The moving industry is not regulated in the state of Idaho. Local moves and intrastate moves are not regulated by the state of Idaho, and generally movers just need to have a business license. Interstate moves, however, fall under and must abide by federal regulations.
If a household move involves transporting more than 26,100 lbs. (which is way more than the average household would contain and, therefore, fairly rare) it is regulated at the federal level...even for local moves. Most local movers in the state of Idaho will generally charge on an hourly basis and if the move is over 50 miles it will kick over to weight and distance. |
